What is the difference between
used and refurbished equipment?
We use the terms "used" and "refurbished" interchangeably, so
there is no difference. All used or refurbished equipment is
tested, cleaned and inspected.
What forms of payment do you
accept?
We accept payments with the following credit cards: Visa, Mastercard
and American Express. Orders shipped via Fedex may be COD. For
established companies with a good credit rating terms may be
given.
How are orders shipped?
Orders may be shipped via any UPS or Fedex service. For large
orders, shipment via freight may be arranged. The buyer pays
the shipping charges.
What is your return policy?
No returns will be accepted without a Return Merchandise Authorization
(RMA) number. All returns will be subject to a 20% restocking
fee and are expected to be in the original packaging with all
accessories included. The buyer is responsible for freight charges
on the return.
Returns will not be accepted on special order items that Tangent
acquired solely to fill your order.
What is your warranty policy?
All used products purchased include a one-year replacement warranty.
This means you will be shipped a replacement for failed products
under warranty. We also require that the failed product be returned.
This warranty does not cover application or design errors.
All new products are warranted by the manufacturer.
Do you buy used equipment?
Tangent does provide asset recovery services for your decommissioned
or surplus network equipment. Network equipment may be traded
in, purchased or consigned. We will work with you to decide
the best method for your business to recover some of its original
investment.
Your equipment list may be e-mailed to purchasing@tancom.com
or submitted through our on-line
form.
Are Cisco software licenses
transferable?
All Cisco software licenses are not transferable.
Cisco's policy is that Software, whether Standalone or Embedded,
is not transferable, except where a listed exception below applies,
and except, of course, where Cisco's contract expressly allows
it. Any other transfers will require the payment of a new license
fee (see Global Price List). For products where there is no
separate line item for the Software (i.e. the prices for both
the Hardware and Software are bundled), and therefore, a fee
cannot be determined, an exception will be made to allow for
the transfer without the customer being required to obtain a
new license (the customer may be required to pay an inspection
fee), if (A) Software to be transferred (i) will be under a
support contract provided by either Cisco or a Cisco-authorized
support partner or (ii) is still supported by Cisco; or (B)
approval from the theatre Sales Controller has been obtained.
Use of the Software will be governed by either the original
license terms and conditions in place between Cisco and the
original Software licensee or by the new license between Cisco
and the new user. Cisco may withhold its consent to any transfer
not conforming to this policy.
Can I purchase Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment direct from Cisco?
At this time, all refurbished products are sold only through authorized distributors/partners.
Is the Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment tested and Cisco supported?
Yes, all refurbished products purchased from Cisco are Cisco tested and come with the same standard warranty support as new products.
Can I order SMARTnet™ with Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment?
SMARTnet™ can be purchased for Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment, but it can't be ordered through the Cisco Authorized Refurbished Equipment program. Please contact your Cisco account manager or authorized reseller for more information.
What do I do if my product is defective?

In addition, any non-working equipment that is still under warranty or a service contract will also be replaced by Cisco Systems. Please contact the Cisco Technical Assistance Center (TAC) at (800) 533-2447 if you have a non-working unit and would like to obtain a replacement.
